Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship 2023
What is the MOS World Championship?
The Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship presented by Certiport, Inc. is a global competition that tests students’ skills on Microsoft Office Word, Excel® and PowerPoint® (2019/365). Top students are invited to represent their respective countries at the World Championship. In New Zealand, students are required to participate in the National Championship, and the winners of that event continue on to the World Championship.
The Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship is now the largest IT competition in the world, with other 1.3 million student entrants from 116 countries in 2018.
How do I compete?
New Zealand Championship
You must complete a specially designed Microsoft Office Specialist assessment in the application of your choice in order to compete in this year's MOS New Zealand Championship. You will gain access to the online assessment on Monday 6th of June 2023, and must complete your assessment and upload your score before 11:59pm on Friday the 10th of June.
You must have GMetrix and Microsoft Office installed on your computer to participate in the qualifying exam.
Scoring
You will be assessed on your proficiency with the application through a combination of score and time to determine the national representatives. All results are evaluated by NZIQ before being declared final.
Getting Started
Register below to be added to the mailing list to receive your competition code on the 6th of June.
After registration, you will be given a limited-access training code. This code will grant you access to training modules to prepare for the exam, which can be used five (5) times, if you would like to extend this code, your school may purchase unlimited practice codes per student here.
On the week of the competition, your teacher will be provided with another access code that will grant you access to the NZ Championship Exam. You will only be able to submit three (3) entries for the NZ Championship Exam.
If your school already teaches using the Microsoft Office Specialist training material, you may practice as many times as you like in preparation.
The Winning Student
The winning student will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Orlando, Florida to represent their school and their country at the MOS World Championships on July 30th to August 2nd.
